A little further
Noyers is in the middle of a department that has got a rich patrimony. For 30 kilometers round, you have to discover Tonnerre and the ancient Hôpital Marguerite de Bourgogne, the château de Tanlay, the Renaissance Palace of Ancy-le-Franc, Avallon and its ramparts erected by Vauban. Further you have to see the eternal hill of Vézelay towards the Morvan, the canal de Bourgogne, Montbard and the Buffon’s memory, the stronghold of Semur en Auxois and the Epoisses' castle.
| Towards the north : the vineyard of Chablis, along the Serein River. Set on plateaus or in narrow valleys, it stretches over 19 communes that offer you human and historical wine values. Closer, other vineyards have to be discovered. Maybe are they not so prestigious, but you will be surprised by their quality. Aligoté, Sauvignon as well as Chardonnay will turn you towards the white wines of Chitry and St Bris and the red wines of Irancy and Epineuil. |
